Welcome! The
International Folk Dancers of Bethesda meets on Monday night. The Beginner's
Group begins at 7:30pm and the Intermediate group meets from 8:00-l0pm.
It has been sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation
for 40 years. The group met at the Bethesda Community Center for almost
30 years, but now meets on Monday evenings in the social hall at the Leland
Community Center, 430l Willow Lane in Bethesda, MD. Willow Lane is 4 blocks
south of the intersection of East West Highway and Wisconsin Ave. If driving
south on Wisconsin Ave., turn left on Willow Lane, then proceed 4 blocks
and the Leland Center is on the left. The Leland Center has a wonderful
wood floor. Come with or without a partner. No partner is required or
necessary. The group is comprised of adults over the age of l6. We provide
mostly recorded music, but occasionally live music and workshops. Registration
is required through the Montgomery County Department of Recreation for
a series of classes. Students who are not Montgomery County, MD residents
must pay an additional $l0.00 service fee. Registration forms are included
in the Recreation Department Guide or are available at the Monday night
class. On several holidays through the year and when the Montgomery County
schools are closed, our class is sponsored by Diamond Dance Circle and
meets at an alternate location, usually the Women's Club of Bethesda,
550l Sonoma Road on Old Georgetown Road. For information on schedule
or changes of location, call The Diamonds at 30l-87l-8788 or e-mail: diamonddancecircle@comcast.net.
